We are now docked in Galveston, which means I'll be back at full capacity moving forward, hopefully able to leave spawn and play with less than 1000 ping.
It also means yesterday was the last day at sea on this cruise, which obviously means I was very sauced by about 10 oclock. I have a sense of humor shaped by mel brooks movies and too much time spent on the early WWW. Neither of these things constitute an excuse for breaking our own rules, the same rules we hold you, as players, to - in fact one of the rules I penned - but it is to say that I truly didn't mean anything more than an edgy joke.
Regardless of how it landed it was out of line and is not in keeping with our general principles. Obviously this type of humor in the public sphere has a way of fostering and enabling people who are NOT joking and those are the very people TnB has been working to shake off, so for those of you whose trust I may have compromised, I am sorry and you will not see that type of thing go unpunished from me or any other member of this team moving forward.
So, consider me off LOA and shamed. See yall later.

If you couldn't tell already, I haven't been active much - unfortunately burn out really has (always has tbh) gotten the better part of me and that's through no ones fault, and with big drastic life changes (new schedules + new promotion + going to college) I don't see that burnout relinquishing itself. Plus, someone mentioned to me that I might have a better time playing especially with a limited scope of view rather than as an admin and I agree with that

I'm pretty badly burnt out and just have no drive or interest in the server on top of battling worsening mental health issues the past few months. Depression is an absolute bitch. It just isn't something I'm finding joy in again and I'm shifting my focus elsewhere for the time being. Wishing you all the best!

I'm resigning from admin
I was in a position to play in this community and make time but due to a change in circumstances, I have to take a step back. I've been so inactive since getting admin that I've only been on the server once and I view that as unacceptable. I am not leaving the community, just taking a step away from this role and being an active participant in HL2. Thanks to the team for giving me this opportunity and thanks to the community for making me feel welcome as an admin!

Resigning from admin/stopping playing the server.
The beginning of this uprising was pretty cool and had some of the craziest roleplay I've been apart of, past that point I feel like I've wasted the last few months of my life dedicating it to this server. Maybe it's just growing up but dealing with the all the constant drama and bs really sours anything good you try and invest your time into with this place. It's always really the same thing here despite what bandaids get slapped on to try and promise folks 'this time will be different' surrounding decisions from the top-down because in the end folks will always worry about installing their cliques into place and pushing the narrative they want en masse. But when it comes time to hold accountability on our team at large those that fall into this clique unfortunately aren't dealt with and it's sluffed off. For example, we just removed a gamemaster from our team and one of the reasons surrounding their removal was suspicion of metagame. Yet when I bring forward definitive proof of an administrator metagaming it's sluffed off/being 'investigated'. I don't really understand the reasoning behind the coddling of
Rabid
so much and this isn't some hate spewing post, it's just factual. This administrator has now ruined 2 map narratives ran by other admins and metagamed to put his character in better positions, yet he always manages to talk his way out of a situation. It's actually retarded. Footless spent 2 years building up his character and the vort arc all to just have it ripped away. I went so far as to never speak to anyone outside the rda's concerning any of this but it seems the only way to get anything done at this place is to bring stuff to the public eye so you can't escape criticism. I really contemplated even including this part considering I'm stepping away because I refuse to be apart of this bullshit anymore, but here ya go:

Rabid was rping on his faction lead character James Daniels and was roleplaying with Miguel's character Francisco B. Ibarra. In this conversation, Ibarra spoke of wishing to do dead drops of radio's to try and reach out to communicate with Civil Authority officers to try and sway them. Rabid's character (apparently james daniel is ex-gis/intel from c17 iteration) expressed his interest in facilitating the radio's to be used for this operation/helping out where he can. He then spawned in the radios and brought them back to Ibarra who had them placed in some different areas.
There were 2 others part of this convo I forget the names of if some stuff looks confusing, but the premise being that Ibarra had the idea, rabid spawned the radios in to be communicated with cca and then Ibarra and Rabid himself planted them, though the one Rabid 'finds' later was placed by Ibarra.

He then exits the nexus and proceeds directly without another /me to the dropped stationary radio. He then spawns himself a handheld radio that was entirely asspulled, walks away from the stationary that is there ICly and inputs the frequency into the walkie talkie he just spawned for himself. (Imo abusing his admin. We'd expect handheld radio's to be facilitated to units icly and have been actively removing them out of folks hands that we know about. Imo he likely did this to avoid being out in the open conversing on a stationary radio.)

In conclusion and apology for the long ass post: He not only metagamed and B-lined to be the recipient of speaking to a rebel on his CCA off of RP he set up on his rebel character, he spawned himself in a handheld. A combination of abusing his admin to spawn himself a radio and metagame. This is not behavior we should be participating in as admins at all. If he was a player, I would've banned him already and posted the logs in admin chat. It's pretty crazy the level of metagame he's willing to go about and take RP away from someone in the cca who could've found that radio instead. He rarely even plays 119 anymore.

He then spawns himself a handheld radio that was entirely asspulled, walks away from the stationary that is there ICly and inputs the frequency into the walkie talkie he just spawned for himself. (Imo abusing his admin. We'd expect handheld radio's to be facilitated to units icly and have been actively removing them out of folks hands that we know about. Imo he likely did this to avoid being out in the open conversing on a stationary radio.)

In conclusion and apology for the long ass post: He not only metagamed and B-lined to be the recipient of speaking to a rebel on his CCA off of RP he set up on his rebel character, he spawned himself in a handheld. A combination of abusing his admin to spawn himself a radio and metagame. This is not behavior we should be participating in as admins at all. If he was a player, I would've banned him already and posted the logs in admin chat. It's pretty crazy the level of metagame he's willing to go about and take RP away from someone in the cca who could've found that radio instead. He rarely even plays 119 anymore.

Not really any point in snipping out the post now since people will read/hear about it regardless but to address some of the points
The complaint copy/pasted about Rabid was originally pointed out to us on Wednesday and we've been dealing with it since, between all the other stuff that regularly goes on here, IRL obligations of both Sky and Cindy and how long it takes to just... deal with complaints in general means we can't exactly sit down and have everything perfectly worked out within the next business day, it takes time
As for yesterday's event and Footless' map narrative, miscommunication caused things to go wrong there and we've been working on exploring what options we have to try and make it right to him, to solely blame this on one person is both stupid and just a blatant attempt to further smear Rabid's name
Anyways, thanks for deciding to burn your bridges on the way out. The best way to try and improve this place is clearly to bottle up whatever grudge you have against someone and then air it out all in public rather than try to sit down and talk things out

I don't even have any issues with Nap. I'm talking it out with him right now in private. I'd really rather he not quit on these terms, because the majority of this feels like bottled resentment no matter how much we talked shit out.
I'll stand by the fact there's a lot of context and anger-related misrepresentation in his post that I'll clear up with anyone who asks, but if people would rather I leave so Nap remains playing I'm not remotely against it.

Well, while we're at it...
I was really glad to be given the opportunity to be an admin again. I was also even more glad to be able to participate in the CCA in leadership again. Honestly, it was fully my intention to just play a ground unit for the duration of this iteration. I definitely didn't expect to be offered admin either. When I was given leadership in the CCA, and offered admin, it just fell into my lap and I took it knowing I had the previous experience to help me make things great.
I've been focused on other things in my real life lately. It's been hard for me to get motivation to log into the server because I feel like other things are more important right now for me. I obviously haven't been around for a few days, and I was trying to feel it out and see if stepping back a little would help me get motivated/inspired again. Logging onto the server and roleplaying my character started to feel more like a chore - it became mostly like checking off boxes, performing tasks instead of being a character in the world.
Anyone that knows me obviously knows Nap and me are extremely close friends. Him leaving has left me with a load I honestly just can't deal with, with what little motivation I have. So, I think it would be best for me to leave the position to somebody else. It's a shame, but, I definitely am not going to sit in my position indecisively and deprive others.
Hopefully this doesn't leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. I have much love and respect for this hobby! I'm glad I was able to play with you guys again and have so much fun.

I've lost all motivation to play on server, and haven't been having any fun for a little while now. It was a punch in the gut to have the narrative I've been constructing for 2 years, since NIP1 get ruined but thats' fine. I got offered by

to perform it on the next map, but I just don't think I could do it any justice if I don't have the desire or love to do it. Its' a shame, but, it is what it is. A major miscommunication happened, things that shouldn't have gotten pushed for got pushed for, but you can't help that really.
I'm sorry. I wish the server the best and I hope it works out well, but I can't contribute to something that I just don't have love for anymore. Thats' not healthy. Its' not good.

I've been an admin since HLNA, and an admin since the launch of this server, but unfortunately this shit just ain't fun anymore. Too much drama, bullshit, weird politics shit. This was something I cherished as one of my favorite hobbies and it's sad to see how I feel about it all now.
