Information Half-Life: New America - Launch Date

I hope that there will just be a alex jones like character, I just want to turn on a radio and hear a man rant about the combine using gay vorts as somesort of superweapon with no reason or evidence, I just want that, but it might not end well.

It'd be fun. But without the tone of voice, and the movements - I think in writing, it'll just come across as very sort of 'trying too hard'. Half the comedy is the presentation Alex Jones does because he's fairly self-aware and knows how to put on a show.
 
Question about donations. How are they going to be handled this time around? One of the problem I can see happening is a lack in donations to keep the server up without people having to dig into their own pocket. I don't know much about the cost side of managing a server but I assume keeping three servers up and having them be relatively stable costs a pretty penny.

I get you there mate. I'm just worried that people are going to be paying out of pocket to begin with which I assume quickly adds up to a serious amount of money.

edit: i mean the people paying to keep the server up. not the people actually donating.

Paying server bills is not going to be an issue, don't need to worry about that.
 
gmod servers arent expensive - 1 single custom model donation covers 2 servers for a month if they are set up properly

if youre paying developers etc thats when the overhead really starts to pile up
 
Any specifics on a rough time on the server launching? Also, is there anything in the works to make snarks a playable xen character? I think they'd add a lot to the server.
 
Pretty sure it'll be around 6PM EST, with cops coming in earlier to get set up.

Not sure about snarks, but, they'll most likely be an event only xenian, I assume.

Would it be possible to have a few other people join early? I was hoping to have my shop up and running when people arrive at the city as he's a local resident.
 
Can we open up a store right as the server opens? Are we legally allowed to open business then or is there a cool down until we can begin acquiring profit?
