Yeah, I had been messing around with the server by adding continuous strings of characters to create a script that messed with the games of those who saw it on their screen. I do agree that was a bit of an asshole move on my part. I want to enjoy the last few days of the server while it has this player count and finale.

So, it has come to my attention, courtesy of the rest of the adminge team, that this is like not at all the first incidence of you using exploits... it seems to have happened a lot. The horror stories the admins are sharing about the stuff you've done is actually kinda overwhelming.

The only way I could really support this unban is if we developed a scriptside "binary" usergroup where you permanently have no access to toolgun, physgun, or access to the menu. And in lieu of that I can't support your unban.

You really need to argue your case, because this is evidently a long and storied tale of you acting the fool. Make us believe you'll be a good boy. 'Cause buddy, right now it ain't looking good.

That said, I've always disliked the public shame schadenfreude of public unban threads, so if you don't want to air out a bunch of stuff here, I strongly urge you to, at the very least, reach out to Sky, Tank, Gang, Mox, and Decepti in DMs.
 
I'm not speaking for Binary here, but I do want to make it clear that he has been pretty well known to be the local 'bug tester', he even had the tag at some point. He's brought forward exploits he found to developers in the past, including one that if I remember correctly, was a really game breaking money exploit. I've never really known him to use them maliciously (the case where Kami banned him was him screwing with good pal Kami). Obviously Binary has minged a fair bit outside of those cases, though again it has never been malicious.

This is coming from someone who is really good friends with the guy, so obviously ima be biased towards him, the man just wants to s2k with his friends

I understand your concerns about my history. Yes, I do find bugs and exploits and like to mess with them, but I've never gone out of my way to exploit them for personal gain or to abuse the system. I always report them when I find them.

Yeah, I get banned here and there, but they're never to the point of me doing something malicious to the server/players. I sometimes don't take the server seriously and usually, that's when I act out and get in trouble. I try to be on my best behavior when I am serious about the server, I have no excuses for my behavior with previous bans. I was acting like an idiot and deserved it.

Just to be clear: The verdict of this unban falls to the HL2 team as it's their server & they'll be the ones having to deal with Binary if they decide to lift said ban.
 
Giving some context, Binary's a moron who's not really interested in creating interesting characters or roleplaying in general but honestly I have kind of depended on him finding the most random shit for bug testing when we've launched new iterations and versions of scripts. He's generally been honest about the bugs he's found and notified us so we could resolve them. He's a fool, but 70% of the time he's an honest fool.
 
I mean if there is a way we can cooperate and give me a set of restrictions, I'll be completely fine with that too.
 
Echoing Bennet here. Binary fucks around way too often, but he's approached me a numerous amount of times regarding bugs.

I'll give you my +1 but for a few caveats. No TT for the first few days so we can monitor behavior, and don't try to crash the server or ruin others RP when messing around. It's evitable you'll mess around, and that's fine, but try to be mindful of others.

That's completely fair, I'll try to be on my best behavior if I do get unbanned.
 
As much as he can be annoying I don't think binary is a bad dude and shouldn't be excluded from the end of the iteration period. Actually permabanning people is a pretty big deal and puts them in the pantheon of some real scum. With the iteration ending soon(?) it's time to unban him.
